Resources for Soliciting Reviews for Non-fiction Books
Most publications feature book reviews of fiction books, and occasionally a non-fiction book is thrown in for good measure. However, there are still some resources out there for non-fiction authors. Here are three for starters:
1. BlogCritics.org – Features book reviews across most genres and content is syndicated to other sites for even greater exposure. Contact them to inquire about submitting your book for review.
2. MidwestBookReview.com – This author-friendly organization gives special preference to books that are self-published. Book reviews are posted to Amazon and other sites.
3. http://www.parapublishing.com/sites/para/resources/newsletter.cfm – Dan Poynter’s excellent newsletter for authors features a Marketplace edition where you can solicit readers to read your book and post Amazon reviews. To participate, send a brief description (100 words max) to Dan Poynter. Expect to send five to ten copies to readers. Reviewers are asked to post four star reviews or better, otherwise they should decline to post a review.
