Darren Neuberger

Born and raised in Weyburn Saskatchewan Canada, Darren (Red) Neuberger is the youngest son of Bernie and Ella Neuberger. Darren currently resides in Lethbridge Alberta with his wife Jaylene Ulmer and their dog Tobi.

Darren was 34 years old when his very active life was put on an immediate halt. A nagging, persistent cough was officially diagnosed as Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia on August 5, 2003. Married for only 2 ˝ years at the time of diagnosis, Darren quickly came to the realization that he had to get ready for an epic battle; he was not ready for his wife to be a widow at the age of 29. His medical protocol called for 2 straight years of treatment. Darren finished his treatments on July 27, 2005 and loves his new life in complete remission.

Today, Darren is a carrying out his passion in this fight against cancer in many different ways. He’s a trained peer support volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Society’s CancerConnection program, an Angel for Imerman Angels, a Regional Liaison Committee Member for Canadian Blood Services and mentors many fellow young cancer survivors throughout Canada and the United States. His greatest contribution is without a doubt this book – Let’s Talk About It-Inspiring Stories From Young Adult Cancer Survivors.
